Therapy is an investment in time, money, trust, emotional energy, and a genuine commitment to yourself.

Some people need concentrated, uninterrupted time to move through something big. Others want steady support at a manageable pace. I offer both, and either one is open to anyone, whatever brought you here.

Full Day Intensive

This is the part that cannot be replicated in a standard 50 minute appointment.

There is room to slow down. To pause. To follow what emerges. To notice when a protective part steps in.

To stay with something instead of stopping because the hour is over.

An intensive isn't several ordinary therapy sessions stacked together.

It's a different therapeutic container designed to give meaningful work enough room to unfold.

We Start The Intensive

Once we've determined that an intensive is appropriate, we'll choose the format that fits the work.

You'll receive the agreement, payment information, and preparation materials before we begin.

Your intensive is reserved once the required paperwork is complete and payment has been received.

You'll receive your workbook approximately 5–7 days before the intensive so you have time to prepare intentionally rather than arriving cold.

We choose the container.

After The 90 Min Pre-Intensive Consultation

Every intensive begins here.

This isn't a brief consultation where we decide whether I "take your insurance."

We spend 90 minutes understanding what brings you here, what has happened, what you're hoping will change, your relevant history, and what your system may need from an intensive.

We'll also determine whether an intensive is appropriate and, if so, which format makes the most sense.

The $325 consultation fee is credited toward your intensive.

If I don't believe an intensive with me is the right fit, I'll tell you.

90 Min Pre-Intensive Consultation • $325

Every intensive includes a post-intensive debrief.

We take time to integrate what happened, identify what needs continued attention, and talk about what support makes sense from there.

For some people, the intensive is a contained experience and they continue independently.

For others, ongoing therapy is useful.

When clinically appropriate, ongoing weekly or biweekly IFS therapy is available after completing an intensive with me.

What's Included In Your Therapy Intensive Investment

What your IFS Intensive investment holds

A thorough history, assessment of your goals, and determination of whether an intensive is appropriate.

A 90 minute pre-intensive consultation

Your intensive is planned around your specific needs rather than a predetermined protocol.

Individualized Preparation

Your intensive is reserved specifically for you, without the interruptions and time pressure of a standard session. 3-18 hours of highly concentrated work.

Dedicated therapeutic time

Preparation and reflection materials to support your work before and after the intensive.

A Personalized Therapeutic workbook

Time to integrate what you've experienced and determine what comes next.

60-90 Min Post-Intensive debrief

I intentionally keep my intensive caseload small so I can prepare for and be fully present for this work.

Focused Clinical Attention

The 90 minute pre-intensive consultation is where we determine that together.

  • Crisis stabilization
  • Emergency mental health care
  • Medication management
  • Treatment that requires a level of support beyond what an outpatient intensive or service can safely provide

An Intensive May Not Be a Good Fit If You're Looking For:

  • Something significant is happening in your life and you don't want to spend months waiting for enough therapeutic time to address it.
  • You've done therapy before and have enough self-awareness to engage in depth work.
  • You are able to reflect on your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and internal experience.
  • You're willing to invest both financially and emotionally in concentrated therapeutic work.
  • You want more than coping strategies; you want to understand what is happening underneath the pattern.
  • You are looking for a focused therapeutic experience rather than an ongoing weekly commitment from the beginning.

An Intensive Isn't For Everyone

What Makes a Good Fit
For An IFS Intensive

This means it will not be billed through insurance. I believe the intensive container works best when the work can be structured around what you actually need rather than what an insurance benefit will authorize.

If ongoing individual therapy is clinically appropriate following your intensive, I am in network with BCBS for eligible Maryland and Virginia clients.

Because insurance benefits vary, I recommend contacting your plan directly if you are considering using insurance for ongoing care.

an IFS Therapy Intensive is a private pay service

A note on insurance

Under the No Surprises Act, health care providers must give clients who aren't using insurance an estimate of expected charges before scheduling, known as a Good Faith Estimate. You have the right to receive this in writing before your Intensive, and to dispute a bill that comes in $400 or more above your estimate. For more information, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

good faith estimate

The pre-intensive consultation and post-intensive debrief are conducted virtually.

For clients who prefer to work in person, intensive sessions may also be available in Baltimore, Maryland by request and depending on availability.

If you're in Northern Virginia, Maryland, or elsewhere in the DMV, you don't need to rearrange your entire life to find the right therapist.

We can create the container around the life you already have.

Some people do choose to travel to Maryland for an in person intensive.
